Today my class and I went to Cox Arboretum there, we completed a scavenger hunt. By completing this scavenger hunt, I was able to observe things I would often not see. I went to a wildflower garden and took several pictures, my favorite flowers were the pink ones. Then, I went to the butterfly gardens, I was only able to see one butterfly. Next, I climbed up to the top of the tree tower, the view was pretty cool. Lastly, my friend Ally and I went on a hike. This was my favorite part of the trip because the coolest things I found were in the woods. My friend and I walked off the trail and through the woods, we saw two streams and even a waterfall!

While on this trip, I noticed some every-day items I often take for granted. The main thing I take for granted are trees. As simple as this sounds, I really think trees are super cool. When you think about it, trees are older than most of us. So, it’s really cool to think about what the world was like when the trees were just saplings.

Spending time in an arboretum can help us live more deliberately. I think that being surrounded by nature just helps people stay grounded. For me, nature is very calming. I find it relaxing to just sit in the grass and feel the breeze on my face. When people are calm and grounded, they can make good choices which will help them live more deliberately.
